After LOCAL GIRLS premiered at the Cinemalaya NETPAC 2011 at the CCP and at the Greenbelt 3 Cinemas in July 15-24, 2011, LOCAL GIRLS hits UP DILIMAN in Quezon City This August 5, Friday, 2:30 p.m. at the university’s Cine Adarna Theater. Tickets at P80.
Some people behind and in front of the camera for LOCAL GIRLS graduated from the state university. SAM PRUDENTE, who is now based in Iloilo, was a UP Diliman Theater celebrity, as he has performed on the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero stage while studying in UP CAL. NED TRESPECES finished his film degree at UP Diliman, College of Masscom, and went on to writing the script for the movie blockbuster JOLOGS, wrote and directed his first full length in the Cinemanila 2005 official selection TRABAHO, directed MY FAKE AMERICAN ACCENT during the Cinemalaya 2008, and wrote, shot, and directed LOCAL GIRLS.
LOCAL GIRLS producer, musical score director, etc., ONNAH VALERA, got her Broadcasting degree from UP College of Masscom. She also produced TRABAHO and MY FAKE AMERICAN ACCENT.
The final edit of the film was helmed by a film grad from UP College of Masscom, NESSA GABRILLO. She has a day job, as TV producer at TV5.
The soundtrack features another product of UP College of Masscom- MIRO VALERA, also known as lyricist and composer of the band STONEFREE.
Cinemalaya 7 Goes to UP, is presented by Cinemalaya, Cultural Center of the Philippines and UP Cineastes in cooperation with UP CINEMA.
