It seems our screenings were favored by typhoons and rains also… as it was in CCP , it rained and rained and rained during our one and only UP screening. I was wet, cold and bothered that no one would brave the downpour. But there had been tickets sold even before Thursday evening so I at least expected a handful to come to UP. Even the cast had a hard time arriving because of the traffic spurned by the, that word again, downpour. But there’s a reason for this entry’s title. Minutes after the screening began, the ticket booth sign read “Standing Room Only MY FAKE AMERICAN ACCENT” and they had stopped selling tickets according to the students. I was eating the isaw I had bought for the cast at the sidelines while all the scampering for tickets was happening. And then our sponsoring org said they’d sold out the tickets they had too and they weren’t going to be able to watch the film if I didn’t have any of my complis left, so I handed them the few that were left with me. Who knew? I didn’t. I was happy enough to be there early in the soggy day to unveil our movie at our alma mater, and honestly, that was all I was expecting. At least even if it rained, the great number of people made the event warm. Thanks, that’s all I can say, folks.
