Back from the Boondocks

Brothers and sisters of ours who worked on making fun during "Trabaho" filming, we sense that many amongst us are going to be nomadic this year. Production manager and kindred friend Yam Lacaba spent most of her holy week in Batad, Cordillera. Which seemed perfectly timed considering three Filipino climbers have scaled Everest as of this writing. Yam came back May 7th from her shooting odyssey, her third film counting "Trabaho", and the short film with a tarsier named Bangis which is a work in progress still because Yam's cousin is now in Korea to begin a writing grant–another nomad from "Trabaho", see? Yam went to cell signal-challenged Batad to shoot a film entry for the 2nd Cinemalaya Film Festival and upon her arrival texted this greeting, "Abiag Onnah! M back!…Iyaman." Apparently, Yam can speak mountain terrace linggo now and is probably now an adopted amazon princess, but we have yet to exchange stories as she has a family emergency at the moment. The nomadic trail Ned, Cenon and I blazed for ourselves last holy week was far from the rice terraces up north, in fact we found ourselves sprinting to three islands, therefore, three beaches, the three of us befuddled at the whole experience. Which we shall unveil in this blog, not today, since the pictures are still in the digicam, and which we promise will show you a paradisical part of our beloved Philippines. Now, if you were part of "Trabaho" and have nomadic thoughts, please be one with us and spill the beans. This is what this blog is for…at least partially, because it's more fun than texting. Paging mauicoolboy, our film editor, you've got this surfing show on studio 23 saturday mornings we noticed, surf's up!

Initiated this blog for Dirty Kitchen Productions rather late because of time limitations. Starting this with a screamer, a shoutout to Ping Medina, Sigrid Bernardo, Miriam Lacaba, Marc Misa, Sanriel Ajero, Aya Lee and Monique Valera, our actors and actresses for Dirty Kitchen's maiden digital feature film "Trabaho" from yours truly. If you folks are having a splendid summer, share your fotos and adventures with this blog and spread the love.
